Wasted in the wake of the infected. What once was home is now replaced by broken bones and empty graves without a trace of salvation. Now is the time, soon the clouds will part ways, then the sun will emerge and the season will change, and the light will reveal how the orphans have aged into God-fearing men that now question their faith. All their hardship and wisdom etched deep in their faces, no longer enslaved but forgotten and nameless. If only we knew this disease was contagious. If only we knew that true love would betray us. This life is not mine. Not anymore, I tried but I can't live in this world. If only we knew, perhaps they could have saved us. But now we know nothing could ever bring justice to those who surrendered their lives and were sentenced to death by dishonor while forced to bear witness to horrors unheard of in our quiet village before he arrived and brought with him his sickness. If only we knew this disease was contagious. If only we knew that true love would betray us. I swore I'd never seek vengeance. This is what we believed in since days long before the flood of rotting flesh. I was left to die a sinner's death. Now answer me, "Almighty King," I know you hear my less than desperate, bittersweet, soliloquy I sing. I sing on sundried flesh and bended knee. The gospel I once preached has bled me dry of any sympathy for you. I swore I'd never seek vengeance before you destroyed everything I believed in. I want revenge! But if death is deserved, by the good judge's mercy, My Lord, I beg of thee, why must you take my home away from me? I am but a simple man, a complicated life I lead and all her sins, I swear I'll pay for all of them if I could only I could feel her breath again! (I will) Break every goddamn neck that stumbles in my path and embrace every single plague that dares to face my wrath. And I digress, she was all that I had left. And if my world is not worth saving then perhaps you're not a God worth praising.
